Our week in pictures: where did the week go?!

Soooo these are pictures from the last 2 days. Because apparently I was too busy to take pictures until the weekend! So sad.
We met my friend Katie at the park
Landon had SO much fun

Thanks to Katie for this gem
Oh, you know, a little Saturday afternoon snooze
I know this is not the best picture because you can't see his face but somehow I got so caught up in trying to get him to smile/talk/be cute on video that I didn't take any pictures!! And well, I can't NOT put a picture of him on a picture post.
Sunday afternoon snooze. We were watching football and all of a sudden this dude crashed (hence the random toys and such right by him)

I see what you're doing, satan

We've had periods where life is just crazy crazy crazy. And this is certainly one of them. I'm so thankful that we were able to go on a week-long vacation at the beginning of the month, because I have literally been nonstop since we got back. (The only reason I'm blogging right now is because I was soooo productive this morning with housework and I'm ignoring auction stuff because this girl needs a BREAK.)

But at the same time, life is also good. Good good good. Even though this has been the busiest I've been in a really long time, I also know that I'm where I'm supposed to be right now. Trying to keep the magic alive with Logan, taking care of my sweet boys, teaching CCD, running a silent auction, and mostly neglecting housework (truth). And I don't take all that for granted, because I have a few friends who are trying to figure out what God wants them to do right now, which can be frustrating. I've been there and it's so, so hard.

So! Working this auction for a non-profit organization has made me even more aware of how the devil wants to get up alllll in our business. Like for reals. Especially when the non-profit is doing such amazing work like saving babies. I'm so glad Logan and I - and many of our friends - are involved in this organization, but it's also been pretty stressful. I'm finding myself praying St. Michael's prayer several times a day lately (isn't that so perfect that we named Chase Michael after him?! Yep.). And I've been starting my day by asking God to help me get done whatever HE wants me to get done. Because there's just no way I can do everything on my to-do list right now. (SO glad I prayed that this morning because I totally forgot to pay our flood insurance which was due today! But God prompted me and I realized and I'm so thankful because southeast Louisiana = hurricanes)

10 more days of craziness! Prayers are appreciated. :)

Our week in pictures: nap whenever, wherever

Chase and I came back from his 2-month appt and this was our welcoming committee

My new favorite picture!
Walking into SoccerTots. He looks ready to go, right? ;)
A walk around the block (literally) and he's out!
Thankfully the seat reclines

Our week in pictures: beach edition

Beach babies!
Landon always wants to hold Chase and sometimes Chase isn't feeling it
Someone partied too hard
I love love love when Chase smiles at Landon
My big man! He knows he's cute.

Flying the kite with Daddy
I think one of my favorite parts of the early months is when babies start smiling. Melts my heart. (And look at that hair!!)

Seriously. The hair. (I love it, not gonna lie)
Welcome to the church, Mary! Proud godmother right there :)

7 Quick Takes (vol.15)

1. I really want to get in a groove again with this here blog, but life is slightly nuts and will be for another 3 weeks. Sooooo you might have to deal with just pictures and quick takes for awhile. Sorry.

2. We went on a much-needed vacation! 7 days in Gulf Shores, Alabama. It was so very wonderful and fun and I will have many pictures posted. Eventually. But for now, this:
He had SO much fun!

3. I love being a mommy to boys. Seriously. God really knew what He was doing. And although I am soooo not that mommy that dresses her kids alike, I did buy one set of coordinating outfits when I was pregnant (coordinating, not matching…there's a big difference). I rarely buy baby/kid clothes because a) they're expensive, and b) we've gotten so many for gifts and as hand-me-downs. But, I thought it would be fun to have them both wear cute overalls at the same time (and, um, they were on sale):
Yep, cute. Until Chase pooped all over his.

4. Today my wonderful boys decided to take turns really needing their mommy (to put it nicely). They must have known that I had 472 things to do on our first day back after vacation, because seriously…I still have to unpack and go through our mail and pay bills and do laundry and wash dishes and take care of auction stuff aaaaaand I'm blogging instead. Because when I get overwhelmed with life I just don't know what to do with myself.

5. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before, but I like to journal. I started the summer before my junior year in high school…over 11 years ago! There was a time where I wrote every single day (or every other), and I've been pretty consistent with it overall, especially in college. Writing about my day or about life or what's going in my head just really helps me stay sane. So you can imagine my shock when I realized on vacation I had gone ALMOST TWO MONTHS without journaling. And now I'm kicking myself because so much has happened in that time period (emotionally, spiritually, etc.) and there's just no way I could recap everything. Ughhh.

6. So! I really need to get into a routine, but I'm finding that rather difficult with an unpredictable 2-month old and an even more unpredictable 2-year old. Plus I never know when people are going to call/text me about auction stuff. (Are you tired of me mentioning this auction? I'm sorry. It's consuming my life.)

7. So just imagine a house full of 8 adults and 13 kids. And in the midst of that:
Landon on our last night, candy still uneaten in his hand, so you know he was tired.

And now I should do the same. Because it's laaaaate. And my goddaughter is getting baptized in the morning! :)

Check out Conversion Diary for more quick takes.

Goofing around at Soccer Tots....

Oh, Landon.

That is one cool dude right there!
Chase's first time on the beach
Landon had so much fun riding the rides!
