"When a soul recognises the will of God and shows a readiness to submit to it entirely, then God gives Himself to such a soul and renders it most powerful succour under all circumstances." - Rev. Jean-Pierre de Caussade

About

Hi! My name is Jen. I first started blogging in the beginning of 2010, a couple weeks after losing my first baby boy, Levi Anthony, at 22 weeks along in the pregnancy. Feel free to peruse the archives but be warned that I sound slightly crazy during those months of grief - especially because it took longer than expected to get pregnant again.

I married my high school sweetheart, Logan, in June 2009. We conceived Levi 2 months later. We lost him that December and then struggled getting pregnant again. So, we ended up bringing home our first dog, Marley, in December 2010.

In 2011, we became foster parents. It was quite the experience, but we only fostered 2 children before embarking on a rollercoaster pregnancy ride with our now 4-year old, Landon Gerard. There were plenty of tears and bedrest and Netflix marathons, but in the end our extraverted boy got here safe and sound in June 2012.

We were pleasantly surprised to get pregnant again in November 2013 after only a couple months of trying, and it was yet another rollercoaster ride until another boy entered our lives. Chase Michael, born in July 2014, is now our goofy 2-year old who was so worth the endless contractions and countless ultrasound scares. (He’s totally healthy too, praise God!)

We weren't sure we were ready for another crazy pregnancy but still wanted to add to our family. But thankfully we just had an easier pregnancy than the last 2 (but still with its challenges) and welcomed sweet Aaron Joseph into our lives in June 2016.

After experiencing pregnancy loss, sub-fertility, fostering, high-risk pregnancies, and other crosses that are better left off the Internet, God has made it very apparent to us that His will is so much better than ours - even when it doesn’t seem that way in the moment. So now I blog a lot about trying to embrace God’s will in all aspects of life, even the seemingly insignificant things, because God uses everything!

I also blog a lot about marriage, because Logan and I are completely different….so it’s been quite the learning curve. There’s also some fertility and NFP posts because I tend to overshare about those kinds of things. We all know everyone is curious though, so I’ll keep sharing because those are the posts that always strike a chord with readers.

A little more about me: I’m a cradle Catholic and am so thankful to my parents for giving me the best childhood. I have an older brother who lives 15 minutes away, and a twin sister who won’t leave North Carolina to come back home to Louisiana. I still love her anyway.

I’m a sports gal who grew up playing several sports but soccer will always be my favorite. Now I spend every football season rooting on the New Orleans Saints and playing Fantasy Football. I also grew up playing the flute and was pretty good at it back in the day. Just call me a band nerd.

I read a lot of books and hope to write my own one day. I also like to crochet, drink coffee, bake, eat Mexican food, and write everything in my planner so I don’t forget. Because you know, mom brain.

Although I’m a Registered Nurse, I’m now staying at home full-time with my kiddos. I do a lot of volunteer work, including teaching 5th grade CCD at my church parish. I also just opened an Etsy shop!

So glad you’re here and I hope you stick around! Check out my MarriageMotherhood, and Family Life pages to read some of my favorite posts. You can also follow me on Bloglovin'!
